OH NO SHE DIDN'T!

Oh but yes she did! Yesterday Maddie was outside playing, Daddy went to check on her and came back in yelling, she peed in Reese's dish! I busted out laughing and said what?!? Yep, she peed in the dogs dish, she had alot of excuses, first she said she didn't do it, than she said Reese did it and finally she said, but i had to go! This is probably my fault, over the weekend while we were traveling she said that she had to go potty, the place we stopped at only had a Port O Potty and it was DISGUSTING so I told her to go ahead and pee in the grass. Oy, what a trip she is!

Today is my last day of freedom, yep, last day of vacation. I'm already thinking of when I can plan my next one. Maddie has been something else all week, her mouth is something to be desired at times. She is so darn vocal and opinionated I just shake my head at her sometimes but I think what the real problem is is that we are too much alike and its drives me nuts. I can just imagine the calls I will be getting from school when she starts. I thought the terrible 2's ended at some point? Yikes.

Just got back from the dentist ....Maddie, Maddie, Maddie, what are we going to do with this girl? She did really well at first, seemed like she was going to go through like a champ, but when they started working on her she freaked out --it was worse this time than last time and there was more work done last time! She cried and cried and cried, fighting, back arched in the air, you name it. When it was all done I heard the dentist and assistant make the statement "eat that frog" ...I asked them what that meant and they said that is what they say when they do something hard right out of the gate so they were thinking the rest of the day should run smooth. LOL. I sure hope so for them, its actually embarrassing to see how Maddie acts up. 2 down, 2 to go. Oh boy.

I've been on vacation all week and Maddie has pretty much been a mouthy terror. I'm beginning to think she doesn't like it when I take vacation...I always seem to be punished the most when I keep her home with me all week. I'm starting to think vacations will have a whole new meaning when she starts school! No, I'm not rushing her to go to school per say and I do like spending time with her but sometimes a quiet day means alot!

Tomorrow is another dentist appointment....bright and early 7am appt...I'm hoping that this time won't be as bad as last time with the whole pink nose laughing gas thing now that she has actually lived through a procedure. Nothing is ever for sure with Maddie though! She's been talking about it today and has said several times that she won't be afraid and she is going to just sit back and close her eyes, yeah yeah, heard this before so I won't believe it until I see it!

Maddie and I had our first trip to the library today! I've been getting an itch to do some reading so I thought this was the perfect time to take her too. Problem was, I haven't been to a library in so long I was clueless! I didn't know what books to get for her and I was clueless for me too...I found a book that looks interesting...I'll let you know when I'm done how it turned out.

Goodnight!

Its been a few days since I have posted anything....hope everyone had a good weekend! We had a wedding in Sandusky....my friend Kristen got married! We skipped the ceremony because I thought that with it being a catholic wedding it would be fairly long and even though I know Maddie would have loved seeing Kristen get married I didn't want her to get antsy and start fussing causing a distraction. Come to find out later that it was only 30 minutes, bummmer! Anyways, Kristen was beautiful as always, Maddie was so happy to see her...she kept saying she was a beautiful princess! Maddie looks evil in this pic but she was so distracted I just couldn't get her to smile.

We also got the chance to take Maddie to the indoor waterpark Castaway Bay....what a cool place! Maddie could only go in a few areas because of her height, we took her in the wave pool for a little bit but she felt the safest in the toddler area and so that is where we hung out on the sidelines. No biggie, it was fun relaxing and watching her, I would definetly take her someplace like this again! She found a little boy to hang out with, they were inseperable, I have no clue what his name was, Maddie just kept saying that it was her boy. LOL.

Maddie had another dentist appointment yesterday....I really wanted to try one more time at the regular dentist before we had to schedule her to go to the pediatric dentist. If you know Maddie you know how well she adjusts to changes....NOT! So I really didn't want to go through taking her to another dentist and having her play the strange game, add to the fact that she might get a male dentist and forget it! (She's always had a fear of strange men....took forever for her to get used to her Pappas!) So I psyched her up all week, took her in and the minute she saw the chair, panic set in. Oh no....not again. She wanted to talk to Daddy so we called him and talked to him on the phone, she got her little pep talk. Ultimately, it ended up with me holding her down, literally. I had to put her hands in my hand and hold her torso down so she would let them put the laughing gas on and boy was I working up a sweat. I told them she doesn't have a choice, she can't go through life refusing to do the important things and she keeps complaining about the tooth so it just has to get fixed. I'm sure I looked like a meanie mommy..oh well, life goes on, I don't want to go to work every day but I have to, LOL! She never really completly vegged on the gas, just made it easier to corporate..when they were fixing the cavity you could tell she felt it so they gave her another injection right in the middle of her tooth...YOUCH! Now that she cried over..can't say I blame her...by the end she started to get antsy, it was the dentist, me, and 2 assistants getting the job done. She has her crown though! I took pics....I'll put them on here when I get them downloaded. She is calling it her diamond..that is what it took to get it done, may as well be a diamond with what I had to pay! =D

Just a few cards....

Unfortunately for Maddie sensitive skin comes to her from both sides. From Daddy's side comes a metal sensitivity and I think she has it. When Maddie got her ears pierced she didn't have any problems with the set they put in so I thought we got lucky. When it was time to be able to change them I got her some earrings from Claire's...nope...I went to change them and clean her ears and her poor little ears bled. Ok, so back in go the originals they pierced her ears with. Well, eventually those got lost so I got her some from Target. The first pair I got her was fine, didn't seem to bother her at all and they came up missing. So once again I got her a 4 pack of earrings (Target) and at first they seemed to be fine. Until I checked on them and couldn't find one. At least I THOUGHT it wasn't there...I noticed yellow green puss and the earring buried in her ear so I had to push it through, clean it up and get some ointment on it. (Does this sound familiar Mom? ) So I am going to find some good earrings for her...or order from the same place that MIL orders her jewelry from and see how it goes. I really don't want to have to let them close. She really seems to enjoy her earrings. What a bummer!

Thursday is Maddie's reattempt at getting her teeth fixed at the dentist. I am HOPING that the last visit got her used to the laughing gas and everything else and that this time she will do it w/o any probs. She was complaining about an earache and we took her to the doc only for the doc to say her ears looked fine but her teeth were another story. The doc told her she needed to go to the dentist and let them take care of it and I have been showing her my fillings and telling her she will get diamonds in her mouth. I know, a little drastic, but hey, if it gets her to go and let them do it I'll take it! Otherwise we will have to take her to a pediatric dentist and pay mass amounts I am sure for the work that she needs done. Not to mention I have already called around and with my work schedule it is going to be insane trying to find the time to get her in. So lets all say a little prayer that everything goes smooth that day! Oh, I told her I would take her to pick out a little toy too...I know, she doesn't need anything but I'm grabbing at straws people!

Escape artist strikes again!

Maddie is proving to be the escape artist. We were all taking a nap, all but her obviously....when she came and knocked on our bedroom door saying that the mail was here. Ok, no biggie right? Wrong! Johnny got up to tell her to just get to bed and discovered that she had been out on the porch, playing in the dirt, the mailman/lady must have given her the package because the box was on the coffee table. Holy cow, what are we going to do with this girl? LOL. So now we are going to have to get a slider lock or something that we can put up on the door out of her reach to keep her in. I'm sure people around here think our parenting skills suck! She's trying to give me a heart attack I think!

Happy Mother's Day!

I made this baby album for a daughter of a friend of mine at work. I really enjoyed making this and loved how it turned out. This is also my first time making a premade album like this! =0)

Once again its a no go...

Thursday was picture night for Maddie at gymnastics. First of all let me say what an unorganized mess that was! They had us scheduled for 6:15 and told us to be there 15 minutes early. Ok, no problem if you are going to be running on time, but that wasn't the case in this situation. They had ONE photographer, yes ONE for MANY chilren and classes, tap, jazz, lyrical, gymnastics, clogging, individual pics, parents running around in chaos trying to make sure their little prince or princess looked just right. There were so many of us in crowded in this place it got really hot really quick and the windows even fogged up! We squeezed our way into the waiting spot and eventually got the chance to sit down. Maddie was a champ, she was playing with another lady who's grandson is in her gymnastics class and is also the mom of her gymnastics teacher. They were having a blast together. So as we were chatting I was watching the photographer who was clearly getting a little burnt out himself. For individual pics he basically put you where he wanted you and told you to smile..and for group pics there were many times that I heard him tell the older kids, if you aren't going to smile or look at the camera why am I taking pics? Hmmmm..ok...stressed are we? By the time Maddie's class was called it was 7:30....so.....you can imagine Maddie...she had been good for going on 2 hours waiting patiently, we take her over to get her individual pic taken and she flipped out. Instant crying, asking for Daddy, wanted nothing to do with me and she wouldn't sit on the star or whatever else they had for a pic. Instant fear tantrum mode. We tried to pull her aside and talk to her about it, thought she was going to do it for a split second but once again when we took her to get her pic done she flipped out. Ok, fine, I can take the single one on my own...so off to the group pic we went. She was fine getting her posed with all of her little friends but the minute she saw the photographer....instant crying once again. She wouldn't calm down, she wouldn't stop crying, she wouldn't stay put. Ok, silly me but I'm thinking seriously? You can't just stop crying for 2 seconds to get your pic taken? You really can't get over it for a brief moment? So of course I had some words with her telling her to just get over it and go take a pic so we could go home. Nope, not Miss Thang, not Drama Diva Maddie, you know Maddie, if she isn't going to do something she isn't going to do it, discussion over. So at this point, I'm tired, I've just waited almost 2 hours for nothing, and I grabbed my stuff and stomped off. I was embarrassed that she was acting like such a snit in front of all of those people, and disgusted that after all of this I was going to at least get a photo of her with her class. At this point Johnny was getting upset with me because I was upset with Maddie and he had been trying his best to get her to take a pic. All of the moms were trying to comfort me telling me that they remember their little ones doing the same thing at that age, take a deep breath, don't stress over it...all of the nice things you say to someone that is clearly about to scream. Her teacher assured me she would get a nice pic of them at the recital which is a nice gesture but at that time I am thinking, why bother? Should we even try to do the recital? How do I know little miss brat won't do the same thing at it? Her stubborness and emotions is something else. Yes, I called her a brat. She was being a brat...I know it wasn't nice to call her that but I call it like I see it, she was being a brat, bratty brat, brat. LOL!!! So.....if you were looking forward to getting some pics from gymnastics, scratch that thought. I am going to try to do one of my own of her in her costume and hopefully I will get one of her class either on a class night or at recital. Next year hopefully she will be old enough to understand and just do it..but I put some blame on the planner of the event too. Why did they have the older kids go first just because they were wearing wigs? Wouldn't logic tell you to let the little ones go first? I guess that would be too obvious.

Ok, that's my rant. =0)

Maddie finally got her recital costume tonight...just in the knick of time considering pictures are Thursday! Anywho.....all of the kids practiced in her outfits tonight...oh my goodness, how cute! The boys are wearing bibs with black and white trim and some gold sequins that the teacher fixed up for them. The girls outfits even came with some sunflower clips to but in their hair. Everyone kept commenting on how cute the girls butts looked in their outfits, sounds funny but they do have cute little tushies! I can't wait to get her pics done...

For those of you that are waiting for birthday pics...I know, I know, I keep saying I'm going to mail them and I keep forgetting! LOL, I'm putting them top priority for this week!

The other day Maddie kept getting this baby bonnet out and wearing it, she didn't get it that it wasn't really going to fit her well...so this is the fashion disaster that we ended up with!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Heart attack for the day: as usual Maddie wanted to play outside because it was beautiful out, and as usual I let her out to play with Reese as the babysitter. Back track a couple of days, I locked my keys in the house one morning and called Johnny in a panic....he says, no prob go in through the back. So I let myself in and put the lock for the fence in one of the chain links. Back to the present: I hear the doorbell ring, run upstairs to check on Maddie before I answer the door and guess what, she is GONE, yes, I said GONE........Reese and her are NOWHERE to be found! I of course run out barefoot yelling for Maddie, not that I don't care about the dog persay but ..ya know. As I am yelling for Maddie I hear someone say, "she's around here" so I start running to the front, around the corner to meet me is my awesome, beautiful, fabulous neighbor Tony. She said that Maddie and Reese were walking around and pretty much came over to her house. OH MY GOSH! My pants were pretty much darn well near soiled, heart in the bottom of my stomach and I had every thought possible running through my head. Of course Maddie was upset because Tony said that she just got home from work and was tired, going to take a nap. Did Maddie care that she had just gave me a scare? Nope. Did she even want to come to me? Nope. She wanted to go play with Tony. I of course thanked Tony for bringing her back and in the back of my mind I'm thinking, she probably thinks I am the worse parent ever, I let Maddie play outside all of the time ...I can't spend every waking minute out there. In the end, its really my fault, had I remembered to put the lock back on the fence when I was done getting my keys this would have never happened. I should have known little miss smarty pants would have figured out the lock was gone and she was free. Of course the neighbor dogs were barking while the 2 escape artists were running free but they are Beagles, they bark and their own shadows for goodness sake! After getting myself back together, waiting for Daddy to get home so we could talk to her Maddie could care less. We tried to tell her that she could have been hit by a car or even worse yet taken by someone and never to see us again. What did she have to say? "can I go outside and play now?" GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!! KIDS!!!! Love her to pieces but grrrrr!

Scrappin' Stuff

It's a no go for Maddie today at the dentist. She was due to have a filling/cap put on one of her molars that is almost down to the nerve. They came in and put the nose mask on her and at first she looked like she was going to go through like a champ, and than the panic set in. We tried to convince her that I would be at her side, even tried to let her sit in my lap but she wasn't having it. She wouldn't let them near her to even put the mask back on. You know the routine of Maddie pouting ....stubborness sets in, grunting, bottom lip out, thumb in mouth. Grrrrr. So of course they weren't going to force the situation because they don't want to traumatize her but they won't try again either, I have to take her to a childs dentist so they can sedate her. Good gravy, I don't even want to think about cost at this point, I just know she has a mouthful of cavities that we need to take care of because she won't start losing them for at least 2 years I'm thinking and the one is in a molar that she has to keep until she is 12. Drama Queen syndrome strikes again.
