This weekend we went to see my mom--even though it was chilly that didn't stop Maddie from enjoying herself on the beach. She got to go fishing too and caught 2 Bluegill! The first fish she caught swallowed the hook so Pappa Bri had to come to the rescue and help get him off the hook but the 2nd one Maddie got to help throw back into the water. We couldn't keep her out of the water, bummer that the weather didn't cooperate and keep up with the warmth.

The other night Maddie yelled down to us, "You forgot to let me brush my teeth!" So Johnny told her to get to the bathroom and he was coming up. Soon he yelled down to me, "Mommy, you might want to come up here and bring your camera!" I knew she had managed to get into something but had no idea what it could be this time. Imagine my surprise when I saw this:

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

In the scrappin' world:
Maddie having fun at the mall!

Emotions!

Maddie has been very VERY emotional yesterday and today ..she cries and has a fit at the slightest thing. If you tell her no she cries, if you tell her yes she cries, she doesn't know what she wants to do or how to feel. Its exhausting for everyone involved. For the most part we tell her to deal with her feelings and try to work it out but there is only so much crying for NO apparent reason a person can take sometimes! I just keep thinking to myself, if she is like this at 4 I can't wait to see what she is like as a pre-teen and teen!

The other trait Maddie is mastering, sneakiness! Our little princess knows how to sneak better that Swiper the Fox! Her bed seems to be the black hole hiding spot, if at any time we can't find anything we just go pull her sheets back and its usually there, along with other things we didn't know were missing yet! Alot of the time it is our toothbrushes, what's up with that?

Maddie is no longer a baby, duh, I know...but she is now wearing 5's in girls tops and even though she can wear a 4t in pants it wont be for long! Her only problem is she doesn't have any boo-tay to help her hold her britches up! She apparently doesn't get that from me! LOL!

Thought for the day:
"You laugh because I'm different...........
I laugh cause I just farted! "
LOL!!!

I let Maddie play outside yesterday, when I went to check on her this is what I found...

She got into the spackle, had it all over her clothes and I had stripped her down before I realized, what am I doing? Grab the camera!

Poor Reese was a victim too:

I guess this would be Maddie's work of art for the day:

In an effort of trying to spice up the blog here's a quote--also inspired by a friends blog...=0)

"Friendship is like peeing on yourself: everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings. "

Creation of the day:

Yesterday Maddie was sick in the morning, throwing up from her sinuses and allergies..I won't get into all of the gory details, lol. She was fine by the afternoon thank goodness! Hoping for a less eventful day today!

The other day at work the residents got to go outside and they had a bubble machine...it was the coolest thing ever and they loved it!!! Bubbles bubbles everywhere bubbles! I instantly knew that I had to get one for Maddie, I knew she would love something like that. Sooooo.....today I got one for her and it is so fun! It blasts bubbles like crazy!

Today Maddie and I had dentist appointments...they had me go first so Maddie could see that it was no big deal and nothing to be afraid of. By the time I was done they had made it look so fun that she was begging to have a turn! They are so great with her there, they feed into her hyperchondria ....tell her how cute and smart she is, what girl wouldn't like that? She did AWESOME, got in the chair, followed directions, no fussing. Bad news? Girlfriend has 4 cavities!!!!! One of them is almost down to the nerve so they are going to put a crown on it since it is a molar and she will have it until she is 12. She gets that from me, I've always had fillings and problems with my teeth. Grrrrr...poor girl. So within the next month I will be taking Maddie to the dentist to get things taken care of, they are giving her laughing gas, can you imagine?

The nice weather is back, yippee!!!

In the scrapbooking world...

A little nursing humour:

You know you're a nurse if...

You believe every patient needs TLC: Thorazine, Lorazepam and Compazine.

You would like to meet the inventor of the call light in a dark alley one night.

You believe not all patients are annoying ... some are unconscious.

Your sense of humor seems to get more "warped" each year.

You know the phone numbers of every late night food delivery place in town by heart.

You can only tell time with a 24 hour clock.

Almost everything can seem humorous ... eventually.

When asked, "What color is the patient's diarrhea?", you show them your shoes.

Every time you walk, you make a rattling noise because of all the scissors and clamps in your pockets.

You can tell the pharmacist more about the medicines he is dispensing than he can.

You carry "spare" meds in your pocket rather than wait for pharmacy to deliver.

You refuse to watch ER because it's too much like the real thing and triggers "flash backs."

You check the caller ID when the phone rings on your day off to see if someone from the hospital is trying to call to ask you to work.

You've been telling stories in a restaurant and had someone at another table throw up.

You notice that you use more four letter words now than before you became a nurse.

Every time someone asks you for a pen, you can find at least three of them on you.

You can intubate your friends at parties.

You don't get excited about blood loss ... unless it's your own.

You live by the motto, "To be right is only half the battle, to convince the physician is more difficult."

You've basted your Thanksgiving turkey with a Toomey syringe.

You've told a confused patient your name was that of your coworker and to HOLLER if they need help.

Eating microwave popcorn out a clean bedpan is perfectly natural.

Your bladder can expand to the same size as a Winnebago's water tank.

When checking the level of orientation of a patient, you aren't sure of the answer.

You find yourself checking out other customer's arm veins in grocery waiting lines.

You can sleep soundly at the hospital cafeteria table during dinner break, sitting up and not be embarrassed when you wake up.

You avoid unhealthy looking shoppers in the mall for fear that they'll drop near you and you'll have to do CPR on your day off.

You've sworn you're going to have "NO CODE" tattooed on your chest.

Have a great day!

What happened to spring? This weekend was cold, wet and just miserable, brrrr...only in the 40's. Last week every day was in the high 60's! I want the warm weather back!

Maddie was BUSTED yesterday, she was playing and all of the sudden we heard her say..."Damn it!" Off to the naughty step she went.

This is my layout for today....I started Maddie's birthday album, only 200 pics to work with! LOL

Praise! Another beautiful day outside! From the time we get home until it is time to drag her in to eat or take a bath kicking and screaming that girl loves to be outside getting into things!

Another beautiful day! Maddie and I went to the zoo for a bit this morning. Seems like the animals aren't quite awake yet but that is one of the good things about having a membership, walk around for a little bit and than go home, no need to feel guilty because you didn't see everything!

Here's my layout for today:

My layout for today:

Maddie is the prayer police of the house. Before any meal (including if we are out in a restaurant) she makes sure we pray. If someone starts for some reason without praying she becomes very upset, crying as a matter of fact saying "we must pray!" This started mostly at the sitters because she has them pray before their meals ...a simple "Thank you Jesus for the food Amen" but at our house we say "God is great, God is good, let us thank Him for our food, Amen"

Something funny that one of my residents said today....

"I feel like I'm dead and broken and my body is pickin cotton"

I don't know why I thought this was sooo funny but it sure did make me giggle when she said it!

Today while playing Maddie asked Daddy to put this kerchief on her head. She was calling it a "rain cap", she had a baby or 2 in the stroller and said that she lost her money. I humoured her.."oh no, you lost your money!?!" She responded, "yes, I lost my money and now I need to go shopping to get more money for my mommy". Oh, if only that is how it really worked! =0)

It is a beautiful day here! Almost 70, flowers are starting to bloom and I am getting a bad case of spring fever!

Here is my layout for today:

I scrapped! This was my offering for the LOAD at Scraproom today.

All of the paper I used for this LO came from my Apron Strings kit. I'm lovin paisleys!

"I am the Queen and you are my people!"

Maddie got a bunch of Princess stuff for her birthday, after everything was opened and the cake was over she started to really get into the role of "Queenie". The crown, make-up and jewerly came from Uncle Josh, the wand from Auntie Kristy, Uncle Ed, Cousin Lily and Cousin Vickie (actually it is part of a Dancing Princess video but you know Maddie, she can find many uses for anything). Miss Queenie hopped up on the couch and was screaming, "I am the Queen and you are my people!" and turned us all into frogs. It was sooo funny!

I am going to TRY to keep up with LOAD at Scraproom this month, I only get 9 off days and I've used up 2...so I better get it in gear!

Here is what I did today:

This is Lily and Vickie at Christmas of '06...aren't they so sweet?!?! BTW, gotta love my Cuttlebug embossing folders!

Today Maddie disappeared upstairs and returned to me with a chocolate marshmallow bunny saying "my belly hurts and this is what will help". Oy, what a character!

Once again I am going to make an attempt at keeping up with the blogging world. I know, I say it again and again, who knows how long this run will last.

It seems the popular thing with kids to say these days to their parents whenever they get mad at them is "I'll call the police and you will go to jail" --kids have no fear, they know that if they did call the police chances are we would go to jail because thanks to people that take punishment to the extreme we aren't allowed to really punish our kids or make them accountable for their actions. Well, it seems to be happening in our house now, I have no idea where Maddie learned it from but whenever we try to punish her, make her listen, tell her she can't do anything she responds with either "your mean" or "you'll go to jail" Good grief, what does a 4year old know about jail? I was expecting this to come out of her mouth at some point but so early? Come on, seriously, sometimes it seems like she is so far ahead of her time. If I would have said that to my parents when I was growing up they would have dialed the number and given me the phone! LOL!!!
